Kioko are a young multicultural pop reggae band from Birmingham and are being championed by their heroes UB40 and described by many as UB40 for the next generation. The parallels for global success can’t be ignored.
Having formed only 5 years ago, Kioko have built up a respectful following across the UK. In the great reggae tradition. They recently released an EP featuring their unique bass culture take on some of their favourite contemporary pop hits. Covers Vol. 1 showcases Kioko’s creative skills as musicians and song arrangers. They released a series of performance videos with SBTV. Where they feature covers by the likes of Jorja Smith and Calvin Harris/Dua Lipa amongst others. They are being championed by the likes of David Ram Jam Rodigan and Target on BBCR1Xtra and across more stations such as BBC Asian Network regionally and nationally.
During this tour Kioko will be releasing new music and videos having spent time over the last few months recording original material in the studio. This will capture their live performance on record to bring that 2019 multicultural British pop reggae sound to you.
