Green Parking In The News Helping To Make Parking Greener

A big thank you to British Parking for featuring us in the news for our participation in the Park Active scheme!

Below are some great tips from our director Neil Edwards on how car parks can make successful use of the ‘park active’ scheme. It’s always exciting to have our hard work recognised! So far, our work with the Park Active Initiative has been hugely successful and helped encouraged lots of people to up their daily step count and use of public transport.

We’ve loved being part of the Park Active Scheme, and we’re going to be trying it out in our new Luton car park. We’re especially excited about trialling it in Luton as our car park is only a short taxi ride from the airport so it’s perfect for Luton Airport parking and is just off the M1 so a great meeting spot for remote teams.

What is the Park Active Scheme?

You can find more information on our Park Active Initiative Page but at its essence, it’s about encouraging people to make their journeys more environmentally friendly! Rather than driving all the way to your final destination, whether that’s the shops or work, parking further away and completing the journey via:

  • Foot
  • Bicycle
  • E-scooter
  • Public transport

Not only does parking further away help the environment, but it also helps congestion in cities, making them a more pleasant place to work and shop!

Which Green Parking car parks are part of the Park Active Initiative?

Of course, many of our car parks are also conveniently located near train stations and tube stations, like our Hammersmith parking. While they’re not officially part of the scheme, they are still great spots to park a little further out, add some steps to your day and help reduce traffic congestion
