While we might not enjoy the colder weather and it being dark by 5 pm, there are plenty of upsides to this time of year! Namely the Frankfurt Christmas market in Birmingham! The Christmas market is always a huge attraction in Birmingham and people visit all over the country to enjoy the delights bought over from Germany. This is going to be the first Christmas in a few years we’ll be able to freely travel around the country, so why not make the most of it!? 

Often called the largest, authentic Christmas market outside of Germany, it attracts plenty of tourists. It’s become a firm favourite in Birmingham and always marks the beginning of the festive season! The stalls filled with traditional German gifts and foods span between Victoria Square and New Street. Whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find something magical at Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market

When is the Birmingham Christmas Market Open?

The Birmingham Christmas market will be open from Thursday 4th November right up until Thursday 23rd December. That’s seven whole weeks of festive fun and delicious german treats to enjoy! 

It’s open every day from 10 am to 9 pm so you’ll have plenty of time to see everything. The only exception will be Remembrance Sunday, 14th November, when the market will open between 1 pm and 9 pm. 

What’s On At The Frankfurt Christmas Market, Birmingham? 

You’ll find a bit of everything at the Christmas Market so it’s perfect for the entire family! For those who love a traditional gift, there’s plenty of handcrafted wooden decorations and delicate glass baubles. You’ll also find plenty of traditional food to eat as you wander around the beautiful stalls, or take home as a stocking filler! 

If you are looking for something more modern, the Bullring shopping centre is just a few minutes walk from New Street.

As well as all of the traditional stalls, there are plenty of nearby restaurants and cafes to choose from. The bullring is filled with eateries and a walk towards Temple Street will see you spoiled for choice.
